The Highland Heart of Bali
The highlands of Kintamani offer a Bali that feels far removed from the beach resort — a landscape of ancient calderas, volcanic black rock, and crater lakes sitting at over 1,000 metres altitude, where the air is cool and the panoramas stretch to the sea. Mount Batur is an active volcano whose last major eruption shaped the valley below; Lake Batur, settled in its ancient caldera, is the island's most important freshwater source.
We begin at Tegenungan and the hidden Katulampo Waterfall — each with its own character and perfect for photos and a refreshing dip — before making our way up through the coffee-growing slopes to the famous Kintamani rim viewpoint, where you sit above the caldera with Mount Batur and the glittering lake spread out below you.

Hotel Pickup
Private vehicle picks you up and heads northeast towards the highlands. The drive through rice fields and local villages is scenic from the start.
Tegenungan Waterfall
Visit the famous Tegenungan Waterfall — one of the most accessible and beautiful in Bali — surrounded by lush tropical greenery with a natural pool at its base. Swimming is permitted.
Katulampo Waterfall
Continue to the lesser-known Katulampo Waterfall, celebrated for its unusual rock formations and beautiful cascading tiers. Far fewer tourists, far more atmosphere.
Drive to Kintamani
Wind up through the highland coffee and clove plantations to the caldera rim. The temperature drops noticeably as you climb — the air feels clean and fresh.
Lunch with Volcano View
Lunch at a restaurant on the caldera rim with a panoramic view of Mount Batur and Lake Batur below (own expense). One of the great views in Bali.
Kintamani Viewpoint
Take time to walk along the rim and photograph the landscape at leisure. Your guide will explain the geology and history of Mount Batur's eruptions.
Return to Hotel
Drive back south to your accommodation, arriving in time for a relaxed evening.

Is hotel pickup included?
Yes — every tour includes complimentary pickup and drop-off from your accommodation in the Seminyak, Canggu, Kuta, Sanur, or Ubud area. For hotels outside these zones we can arrange transfer for a small surcharge.
How do I pay for the tour?
You pay in cash (USD or IDR) directly to your guide on the day of the tour. No advance payment, no booking deposit, no online fees. If you prefer bank transfer or Wise, just mention it in your WhatsApp message.
What is your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour starts, no questions asked. If weather or a family emergency comes up on the day, just let us know — we will reschedule at no cost.
Are your guides certified and English/Russian speaking?
Yes. All of our guides are licensed by the Indonesian tourism board and were born and raised in Bali. Every guide speaks fluent English, and the majority also speak Russian.
Are the tours suitable for children and older travellers?
Yes — most of our tours are family-friendly and we regularly host guests aged 4 to 75. Rafting has an age limit of 7+. Let us know the age range in your WhatsApp message and we will tailor the pace and stops accordingly.
